Ranchi: Jharkhand has 2,57,78,149 voters, including 1,30,65,449 males and 1,27,12,266 females, according to the final Voter rolls for Jharkhand, released on Tuesday ahead of the general elections to be held later this year.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar, released the final List after the second special Summary of the revision the electoral roll.
The first summary revision of the voters’ list was released in January for the Lok Sabha elections. The total number of voters was 2,538,6152. The increase in the second summary revision is 3,91,997. Ravi Kumar said the total number of voters in the 18-19 age group is 1,074,732. He said 55,189 youth, who would have turned 18 on October 1, had submitted advance applications and their names would be included after the fixed date.
The number of persons belonging to third gender is 434 and the number of persons with various disabilities is 389,354. The sex ratio in the list is 973 females per 1,000 males. The CEO said, “This is the last summary revision of the voters’ list for the state assembly elections. However, people can still apply for inclusion of their names and correction of errors in the list. Political parties should also get the names of the omitted voters registered.” Kumar said during the process of rationalisation of polling booths, 53 new booths were created. After creation and merging of the booths, their total number is 29,562, which is 41 more than the last Lok Sabha elections.

As of August 16, Gurgaon district has received 18,013 election petitions for the upcoming assembly elections. Of these, 5,204 names have been added and 269 petitions have been rejected. The process of finalising the voters’ list is underway and is scheduled to be released on August 27. All claims and objections were resolved the previous day. The election activities will continue till early September.
After a voter revision drive, the electorate in Gurgaon is now 1,487,310, up from 1,470,952 previously. The drive brought in 16,358 new voters, taking the total to 783,017 males, 704,241 females and 52 transgenders. The final voters’ list for the four constituencies of the district is now available.
