Dunkin’ is spicing things up this fall with its seasonal food and drink offerings. In addition to the Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte and other returning pumpkin-flavored coffee drinks, the breakfast chain has also launched its brand-new Almond Spice Coffee and creamy Dunkin’ Latte.
If you’re not sure which fall coffee to try first, our dietitians on staff have some recommendations for you. Here’s what our social media specialist Annie Nguyen, MA, RD, and our nutrition editor Jessica Ball, MS, RD, are planning to order—plus, what healthier changes they’re planning to make and what you should consider before trying one of these fall beverages.
Since Dunkin’s new Almond Spice flavor focuses on pumpkin and vanilla, Nguyen is excited to try it out as soon as possible.
“With almond milk and pumpkin spice, the new Almond Spice Coffee sounds exactly like my style for a fall drink,” she says.

Although this drink is low in calories and fat, it does contain quite a bit of added sugar. The American Heart Association recommends a healthy sugar intake of no more than 36 grams per day, and this drink meets more than 63% of that daily limit. Nguyen gives some advice on how to reduce the sugar content of this coffee.
“I don’t like my coffee too sweet, so I would just use half the syrup to reduce the sugar content,” she suggests. Ball makes a similar recommendation for her favorite drink.
“I’d love to try the Pumpkin Cold Brew this fall if I want something sweet and refreshing,” Ball says. “However, a small cup contains 31 grams of added sugar, so I’d skip the Sweet Cold Foam and order half the syrup. Like any specialty sweetened coffee drink, this would be great for a special occasion, but I wouldn’t recommend it as an everyday drink.”
At Eat wellwe’re all for the occasional treat. We believe any food or drink can be incorporated into a healthy eating pattern when enjoyed in moderation.
