Yes, good question. I think he left at the end of the first season in a pretty positive mood. There are adventures, it’s beautiful, the grass is swaying in the wind. Everything seems safe for a while, and then all of a sudden everything goes haywire. They have no food, no water, and the land is completely different. And suddenly he’s in a completely different place to what he’s experienced during his whole time in Middle Earth.
As we watch that journey, I think that says a lot about him. It’s about how he reacts to Nori, what they can do now as a team to overcome the hurdles that are in front of them. And then when Poppy comes back, I think that’s really good. I think he feels like the old team is back together, and yet it’s not solving things. They still have more problems now. And in fact, the problems are getting worse. I think he’s constantly learning how they all interact with each other, he’s constantly trying to understand how to solve problems, but he probably doesn’t trust himself enough to let go and actually be as useful as he could be. So yeah, it’s a knife edge for him.
The stranger’s discovery of his powers could be important for the Rings of Power
The show has already featured some of his magic tricks
Most of the plot surrounding Weyman’s character revolved around uncovering his identity. Based on the destruction he caused at the Harfoots and a frightening interaction where he put Nori in danger, and because he has no memories, There was uncertainty as to whether the stranger was evil or not. When it comes to his magic, The Rings of Power In “The Stranger,” the stranger creates constellations with fireflies and partially freezes water, among other things. In the finale of the first season, he manages to defeat the resident and other witches before setting off for Rhûn with Nori.
The friendship between The Stranger and Nori is also an important part of their character development.
If the Stranger learns more about his powers in Season 2, he might finally remember who he is. Mistakenly identified as Sauron, Finally, it was revealed that Weyman’s character is a magicianwhich leads to even more theories about his future role. Whether the stranger is Gandalf or another familiar Istar from JRR Tolkien’s novels remains to be seen, but perhaps his evolving magic and repeated efforts to be good signal something.
While The Stranger has personal problems in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 will be interesting to find out what he is capable of. Weyman’s comments suggest that the stranger could potentially help him, Nori and Poppy as they continue their expedition, but what kind of powers he possesses and how he will use them remains unclear.
