Cancer is the homebody of the zodiac, according to Sam. “Cancers should avoid bold or bright colors,” she says. She chooses a soft, moonlit blue. “I would recommend Borrowed Light for Cancers, as a nod to their lunar nature. And I must point out the relevance of the name – Cancers are ruled by Luna, which we see in the night sky because it reflects the light of the sun. That’s borrowed light!”

Lion: Damask Gold by Benjamin Moore
“As the only sign ruled by the sun, Leos are warm, loyal and charismatic,” says Sam. To highlight their solar connection, Sam recommends sunny hues like Benjamin Moore’s Damask Gold. What to avoid? Black and gray. “These somber hues don’t go very well with their warmth or flashiness,” she says.

“Scorpios are reserved, intuitive and emotionally deep. Sometimes they can be a bit possessive or overly reserved,” says Sam. They prefer colors that reflect this thoughtfulness, such as Crabby Apple by Sherwin-Williams. “This shade is intense, rich and fits perfectly with the rulership of Mars in Scorpio. However, Scorpios should avoid pastels – these don’t really suit the depth of Scorpio,” says Sam.

“Capricorns are ambitious, persistent and stoic,” says Sam. “Although they have excellent stamina, they can also be quite cold or overly serious.” What would be a better choice for them than a stately gray? Sam recommends Light French Gray by Sherwin-Williams or Roosevelt Taupe by Benjamin Moore. “These chic neutrals will never go out of style, which is music to the ears of any Saturn-ruled sign. For this reason, Capricorns should probably avoid trendy colors – they tend to prefer things that stand the test of time.”
