“There’s no doubt that Georgiev is an absolute workhorse. He started 62 of the Avalanche’s 82 games last season, two fewer than Saros did for the Predators. Since becoming the Avalanche’s No. 1 goalie in 2022-23, he’s started 124 games, tied with Hellebuyck for second in the NHL and three behind Saros. He had 40 wins in 2022-23, which was good enough to tie with Ullmark and then the Bruins, and last season he led the NHL with 38 wins. Now, a lot of that has to do with the team playing in front of him, of course. But even so, he’s there night after night. His save percentage has dropped from .919 two seasons ago to .897 last season, which is a little concerning. But even so, he’s a top-10 goalie in the NHL, which is why I’m putting him at No. 9.” set.” — Price

“The Sabres have a No. 1 goalie in Luukkonen, meaning they now have a chance to end a playoff drought that lasted 13 seasons, in 2023-24. Luukkonen, who was No. 11 in my Super 16, established himself as Buffalo’s No. 1 last season when he was 27-22-4 with a 2.57 goals-against average, .910 save percentage and five shutouts in 54 games. The Sabres lacked possession and offense, leaving them vulnerable defensively, but Luukkonen stepped up. On July 24, he signed a five-year, $23.75 million contract ($4.75 million average annual value). He’ll have to build on last season for him and Buffalo to be taken seriously, but he’s set the bar higher than any Sabres goalie since Ryan Miller. He’s 25 and 1.95 meters tall. He is entering his prime. It is his time.” — Roses

“Lindgren was No. 10 on my list after replacing Darcy Kuemper as the Capitals’ No. 1 goalie and being a major reason they qualified for the playoffs last season as the second wild card in the Eastern Conference. Lindgren’s rise led to Kuemper being traded to the Los Angeles Kings in the offseason for center Pierre-Luc Dubois. The 30-year-old posted NHL career highs in games played (50), wins (25-16-7) and shutouts (tied for the league lead with six games), with a 2.67 goals-against average and .911 save percentage. With Washington having little margin for error to make the playoffs, Lindgren started 19 of the final 22 regular-season games and was 12-6-2 with a 2.39 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and three shutouts.” — Gulitti
