The latter was packaged in polybags, cost a dollar more, and promised more bloodthirsty exclusive material. So what did you get for your extra money? Well, it started with a different color scheme for editorial content…
There is one early change, namely the bloodiness of the fight between Wolverine and Dinosaur. This is what it looks like in the standard version…
And then again in the Red Band version, which starts with a bit more blood splatter and then…
In one version, Wolverine is covered in dino guts, in the other, he is not. However, towards the end of the comic, there is a much bigger change. In the standard version, we see Wolverine reborn from a pile of his own mangled, electrocuted and burned corpse…
Somehow even the adamantium is reinserted. Don’t ask, it’s not that kind of comic. But in the Red Band version? There’s a lot more… knitting going on. And maybe that suggests there was more of a skeletal structure left around which to regenerate…
