Power restored after 16-year-old crashes into power pole, teenager arrested for drunk driving



















































BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, Michigan (WZMQ) – A 16-year-old is facing drunken driving charges after he drove into a power pole, knocking out power to parts of Iron Mountain.

Michigan State Police – Iron Mountain Post officials say the teen crashed into a utility pole on Breitung Avenue near South Jackson Street around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday. The driver suffered minor injuries and was arrested for drunk driving.

The fire department and emergency services of the municipality of Breitung were on site together with WE Energies and Spectrum. According to the WE Energies power outage map, power has now been restored in Iron Mountain.

MSP was assisted by the Iron Mountain Police Department and the Kingsford Public Safety Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
