So there are times when things aren’t quite so magical at the most magical place on earth, aka Disney World.
Sometimes the weather just doesn’t cooperate: It can be unbearably hot and humid, or you have to deal with one of Florida’s many random downpours. Sometimes rides are temporarily closed due to weather or mechanical issues. Sometimes other things happen – and we’re categorizing a recent incident at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground as “other” because Several bus routes are closed.
We recently went to Fort Wilderness to check out the bus situation and noticed that the bus stops for the 600-1,000 area of the resort were blocked off with orange cones, possibly due to a leak or something similar. As you can see, the area is marked with a diversion sign. This means that depending on where you are staying in the resort, you may need to take the bus somewhere else. This may also apply to you if you are driving around the resort.
We spoke to a Cast Member who told us that this happened a few days ago and that at this time there is no estimate as to when the issue will be resolved and the track might be reopened.
Meanwhile, if you’re staying at the resort, you may simply need to make a detour when taking the Disney bus or car, so keep that in mind as it may impact the time it takes to get to your destination. If you have a dining reservation in advance, this is especially true then: allow a little extra time to get to the restaurant.
If you want to go to the Magic Kingdom from Fort Wilderness, you may want to take the boat to the park instead.
We’ll be revisiting Fort Wilderness at some point and will let you know when we do, so check back with AllEars soon for more.
