Pika Pika! All otakus want to fly with this Japanese airline, which has partnered with Pokémon to make in-flight safety information accessible in an enchanting way.
The latest safety video from Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) features several popular Pokémon characters, including Pikachu, Eevee, Jigglypuff, Rotom, Emolga, and others. Each of the popular characters plays a crucial role in demonstrating the better use of seat belts, oxygen masks, and other important onboard features. The playful clip succinctly covers the list of do’s and don’ts that passengers must follow during their flight.
The innovative video is of course not to be missed and the immortal charm of the Pokémon characters effortlessly captivates the passengers and presents numerous safety scenarios.
While Jigglypuff explains the smoking ban in detail, the first scene also features a passenger helping the lovable Pikachu fasten his seat belt. Eevee and Pikachu appear on screen several times due to fans’ continued love for these characters. ANA’s Pokémon safety video is intended for all ages and adheres to in-flight educational standards while spicing them up with an appropriate dose of entertainment.
“With this collaboration, we aim to bring excitement to our customers and provide an in-flight safety video that people of all ages can enjoy,” the Japanese airline’s official description of the footage reads.

More about the special Pokemon planes
This latest addition to ANA’s collaboration with the Pokemon Company represents just one branch of the extensive partnership. Their collaboration on “Pokemon Air Adventures” has also resulted in lively displays of character-themed aircraft – the Eevee Jet HH (launching in September 2023) and the Pikachu Jet NH (launching in June 2023). These aircraft are decorated with numerous Pokemon characters both inside and out. The safety videos will be shown on these aircraft starting August 15, 2024.
According to ANA’s official website, passengers on board these planes will receive refreshments such as cold drinks in Pokemon-themed air cups. Flight attendants are also expected to wear uniforms that showcase visual elements from the long-running anime.
Special Het Flug souvenirs – a Japanese wooden sign, a commemorative sticker and a Pokemon-themed boarding pass – will also be distributed to passengers on the special jets. However, the souvenir distribution is only valid for a limited time and may not be available on some routes or irregular flights.
The in-flight entertainment program includes Pokemon-related content such as Pokemon Kids TV and POKETOON. The Pikachu and Eevee jets will be in service until approximately 2028.
A message detailing the special features on board the Pikachu Jet states: “The Pikachu Jet NH aircraft features a livery designed for ANA, with the Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza featured across the entire fuselage for a vibrant effect.”

“Charizard, Latias, Latios, Vivillon, and other flying Pokémon from across the Pokémon world join Pikachu in moving toward the shining rays of hope and endless possibilities of a connected world. Pokémon are also hidden in the engines, so keep an eye out for them as you set off on your next adventure in the Pikachu Jet!”
The Eevee Jet, on the other hand, is described as follows: “Eevee has the potential to evolve into different forms. Eevee and its evolutions such as Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon are shown moving forward determinedly into the future together with Pikachu. Full of hope, they set off on a journey into the sky together with humans and fly to new places.”
