Opelousas General Health System Foundation announces $90,000 in grants for local nonprofits
Opelousas, LA, August 23, 2024 – In accordance with its mission, the Opelousas General Health System Foundation
announced a three-year commitment to 10 nonprofit organizations totaling $90,000. The financial grants will be paid out over the next three years either as a one-time donation or in multiple payments.
The 10 companies to receive the grants were selected by a special employee giving committee of the Opelousas General Health System (OGHS). All OGHS employees can volunteer to participate in the system’s SPICE (Special People in a Caring Environment) employee giving campaign.
“Our recipients are an inspiring group of nonprofits that are truly driving change in the community we serve,” said Cindy Torian, director of the OGHS Foundation. “Our passion is to help people get ahead, and that spirit permeates each of these nonprofits that are improving the lives of countless individuals and families. This campaign’s inspiring group of nonprofits are truly driving change in our community.”
Over the past 17 years, OGHS employees have donated over $1.4 million to SPICE. These funds have been used to support local nonprofits, employees in need, and hospital projects.
