NEET PG 2024: Minimum qualifying marks
To clear NEET PG 2024, candidates need to secure the cut-off marks set by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). Candidates from General/EWS category need to secure a minimum of 50% marks and candidates from SC/ST/OBC category need to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the NEET PG exam.

NEET PG 2024 Normalization Formula
Normalisation is the equalisation of the marks of candidates who have taken part in different shifts, taking into account the different levels of difficulty of the examinations in different shifts.
- Highest score in layer 1: Normalized to 100th percentile if the highest score in NEET PG is 80%.
- Highest score in layer 2: Normalized to the 100th percentile if the highest score is 82%.
- Highest score in layer 3: Normalized to the 100th percentile if the highest score is 78%.
- Highest score in layer 4: Normalized to the 100th percentile if the highest score is 79%.
What comes after NEET PG 2024?
Candidates who have cleared the NEET PG exam 2024 are now eligible to appear for the NEET PG counselling 2024. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling for allotment of 50 percent of the AIQ seats while the respective state counselling board will conduct the counselling for the remaining seats. For the counselling process, candidates will have to register online and indicate their choice of college and course. The NET PG seat allotment will be based on the candidates’ marks, choice filled, seat availability and reservation criteria, etc.
NEET PG Counselling 2024
Candidates who pass the exam or secure the minimum marks will be eligible for the NEET PG counselling session. The counselling process is expected to begin in the second week of September 2024. NEET PG counselling includes online registration, fee payment, declaration of choices, seat allotment results and reporting.
- Online Registration – For NEET PG counselling, candidates need to fill the registration form by providing their email ID and mobile number.
- Fee Payment – Pay the application fee online (online banking/credit card/debit card) depending on the category.
- Selection Form – Candidates have to select the desired course and colleges in the order of their preference.
- Seat Allotment – Based on the rank of the candidates and their college choice, all India ranks, reservation criteria, availability of seats and other aspects, the examination authority releases the topper list. Candidates can check this list to see which institution they have been allotted to.
- Reporting – Candidates are required to report to the assigned institute on the reporting day. Candidates are required to bring all their certificates in original and one certified copy.
