Le Creuset presents Nuit, its deepest blue yet

When it comes to cookware, no brand is as colorful as Le Creuset. Choosing a favorite collection from the multitude of beautiful options is like picking your favorite child – and it doesn’t get any easier. A new addition to the impressive range has just been launched and is designed for those who are drawn to the night sky.

Until now, Agave was the darkest blue Le Creuset had to offer, but this collection changes that. The new color line, called Nuit, claims the title of “the deepest blue of all.”

“Nuit by Le Creuset is an intense and striking shade inspired by the mystery of the night,” the company said in a press release. (Nuit means “night” in French.) “Like a moonlit ocean, the luxurious, velvety color swirls from black to deep blue – versatile and always dramatic.”

It makes sense that Le Creuset would want to add a dark navy to its range. Navy is timeless, just like Le Creuset itself, but the colour is also having a bit of a moment right now. It can add depth and richness to a room without being overpowering, and naturally has a calming, grounding effect. At a time when trends have shifted towards darker, moodier tones in interior design, introducing Nuit is an absolute no-brainer.

And that’s not all: This product launch doesn’t stop at the new color.

Most knobs on Le Creuset dishes are either stainless steel, bright gold or gold. However, this new collection is the very first to feature a chrome knob – which Le Creuset says will perfectly complement the classy Nuit color. You won’t get the chrome knob in another color variation just yet, but we hope it will be more readily available in the future.

Nuit joins a wide range of 23 different shades at Le Creuset, from Shallot and Flame to Thyme and Peche. While fans on the Le Creuset subreddit expressed their excitement about the new color in response to a screenshot of the brand’s Instagram story with a nod to Nuit, most of the comments consisted of begging for their own favorite color to be next. One user wants magenta or fuchsia; another is determined to get “the blackened purple of my dreams.”

But for now, they’re happy. As one Instagram user put it: “I’m afraid this might be my absolute favorite.” You can discover the new collection on the Le Creuset website, in well-known boutiques, and at Crate and Barrel.
