“I was banned from Comic-Con because of a fight”

Dame Helen Mirren joked that she was banned from Comic-Con because of a fight as she shocked her fans with a humorous but daring virtual greeting.

The Oscar winner, who stars in the upcoming DC film “Shazam! Fury Of The Gods,” delivered a special message to convention attendees on Saturday.

“Shazam-ily” was officially introduced to fans when a new trailer for the superhero sequel premiered at the Warner Bros. cinema on the third day of Comic-Con.

The film’s stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer appeared on stage with Lucy Liu during the first panel of the day.

Mirren, who plays Hespera, the evil daughter of the Greek Titan Atlas, was not present at the convention, nor was cast member Rachel Zegler, but those in attendance were played a joint message from the actresses.

When asked why she was not present, Dame Helen said it was a “silly story”.

“I love Comic-Con and used to go as a fan, but someone tried to cut in and you know how annoying that is,” she said.

“Were you kicked out of Comic-Con because of a fight?” asked Zegler.

“Of course not, darling, it was no fight, he went down immediately,” replied Dame Helen.

She went on to say that she loved playing her “adorable villain,” telling Levi, “Zach, I had so much fun kicking your ass.”

When talking about her female co-stars, she referred to Lucy Liu as her “sisters for life” and shouted “Pussy power!”, drawing gasps and laughter from the audience.

“I can’t believe Helen Mirren just said that,” Levi said.
