Significantly, this autumn Batgirl is Cassandra Cain’s first major solo series since DC’s “New 52 Continuity Reboot”. For members of the Bat-family, setting off on solo adventures often means the end of a character’s era. By giving Cassandra her own series and joining the elite team of Birds of Prey, DC has declared that Cassandra Cain is finally ready to take a more adult place in the DC Universe. This location was confirmed when Black Canary recruited Cass for her team in Birds of Prey #1 by Kelly Thompson, Leonardo Romero, Jordie Bellaire and Clayton Cowles.

Cassandra is not the only one who has grown up – DC has too. Batgirl Cassandra Cain embarks on a new solo journey
Where does the new come from Batgirl Leaving the series? Stephanie Brown?
It is really interesting to see Cassandra Cain go her own way, especially after the conclusion of Batgirl by Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad and Jorge Corona, the played Cassandra and her Batgirl colleague Stephanie Brown as a duo under the leadership of the original BatgirlBarbara Gordon. Both girls bore the nickname and supported their city through triumphs and defeats at many recent DC events, including Joker War, Dark crisisAnd Gotham WarInstead of fighting for the title, Stephanie and Cassandra decided to endure it together.
Cassandra Cain is no longer the newest on the market: 2024 will mark the 25th anniversary of her first appearance.
That she now bears the name Batgirl alone says a lot about Cass’s evolution as a character and the work DC has done to bring her out of Gotham’s shadow. Cass is finally ready to go her own way, without a team and without a partner. Cass being alone gives Stephanie space to find herself, much like her former partner. Hopefully DC will announce plans for Stephanie Brown soonas it would be negligent to waste her fan-favorite character.
Cassandra Cain is no longer the newest phenomenon: 2024 will mark the 25th anniversary of her first appearance. It is the perfect time for an update, and it is a change that has been long overdue. As one of the most influential members of the Bat-family and one of the best fighters in superhero history, DC could finally Cassandra Cain the reset as Batgirl she deserves that.
