Comic Relief US and Nickelodeon support the next generation with the second annual Kids Relief campaign

Comic Relief US and Nickelodeon are teaming up for the first time to launch the second annual Kids Relief campaign: Game to Change the World, an interactive virtual-to-real world movement that reaches kids where they are and gives them the opportunity to become a force for good in their communities.

The campaign launches today and invites children across the country to experience virtual adventures on Roblox and real-world missions that inspire civic engagement and service from August 27 to September 20.

Building on the success of the inaugural campaign, Kids Relief is back on Roblox with Kids Relief Simulator, a brand new game featuring special guests Tony Hale, David Tennant, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as benevolent wizards who send users on epic missions to perform good deeds, earn karma, and improve the world around them. The game uses adventure and fun to teach the importance of empathy, kindness, and community.

This year, the Kids Relief universe is expanding even further, with a Roblox scavenger hunt in collaboration with top games, including Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Simulator and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Tycoon, Highland Park RP, and HyperCatz. From August 30 to September 13, Roblox users can learn about the power of good from the Kids Relief Simulator by traveling from experience to experience to do good and collect magical surprises.

To translate altruism in the game into concrete action in the real world, Kids Relief, in partnership with Nickelodeon Our World, offers a fun and easy guide to help kids organize local activities – from backpack drives and collecting school supplies to examples of kids taking everyday steps to make their community a better place.

To celebrate Active Kids Month, Kids Relief is inviting everyone back to Roblox for a weekend-long, star-studded music festival kicking off on September 13. Featuring some of the most exciting artists, including Imagine Dragons, Conan Gray, Poppy, d4vd, and Alexander Stewart, this must-see, interactive event features inspiring stories of kids making real change in their communities.

“Kids Relief is not just about play. We combine the fun of play with the importance of social impact to help children activate their power to drive social change,” said Alison Moore, Managing Director from Comic Relief US. “By partnering with Nickelodeon and some of today’s biggest stars, content creators and musicians, we aim to unlock resources and opportunities for children, not just in the US, but around the world.”

“It is wonderful to be able to partner with Kids Relief on this virtual event that helps make a difference in the real world,” said Doug Rosen, SVPGaming and New Media, Paramount. “Nickelodeon is all about empowering kids, and with our Roblox games and Kids Relief, we can inspire them to create change in their communities.”

Kids Relief is a platform and fundraiser

Kids Relief raises critical funds to support programs and initiatives that promote empowerment and leadership, provide access to education, and create opportunities for economic growth that help children and families break the cycle of poverty for themselves and future generations.

To make an even bigger impact and spread the word about Kids Relief, top gamers, streamers and influencers from YouTube, Twitch, Instagram and TikTok, including Roblox content creators Leah Ashe and MeganPlays, will promote and raise funds for Kids Relief during the campaign.

“From growing social disparities to concerns about climate change, young people are inheriting a world facing unprecedented challenges,” Moore said. “While one campaign can’t solve these problems, we hope to meet children where they are and create a movement that inspires them to use their potential to drive economic and social change – now and for generations to come.”
