It’s finally time for Texas fans on summer hiatus to gear up and support the Longhorns – College Colors Day returns on Aug. 30, one day before the No. 4 Texas football team takes the field for the first time in 2024 when it faces Colorado State on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. College Colors Day is a national holiday designed to build school spirit among fans, alumni, students, faculty and staff. It encourages Texas fans across the country to unite by wearing the Burnt Orange and White team uniform for a single day to represent the colors of orange and white.

This year’s theme, “Don’t Miss the Moment,” calls on Longhorn Nation to join in on this shared holiday – at work, at school, on the road and online – and to show their passion by displaying their Texas pride through team apparel and other merchandise. College Colors Day is an opportunity for all Longhorns fans to come together to celebrate the university’s rich heritage and traditions and to highlight accomplishments both on and off the field.

Fans can visit CollegeColorsDay.com to learn how to show their school spirit, watch the national commercial featuring national college sports personalities and download content to participate in the festivities.

“This is one of my favorite traditions in college sports because anyone across the country can support their alma mater or favorite college no matter where they live,” said Drew Martin, executive senior associate athletics director for external affairs. “It’s always exciting to see all the college pride in all its glory, especially in the burnt orange and white colors!”

“College Colors Day celebrates the rich traditions and pageantry, the intense rivalries and the heartfelt moments that only college sports can provide by bringing people together to show their team spirit, whether they’re in the stadium or cheering with family and friends away from the game,” said Nicole Armentrout, SVP of Marketing for CLC, the nation’s leading college licensing company and creator of College Colors Day. “We encourage fans everywhere to share their own team spirit and join in the fun.”

To celebrate College Colors Day and the start of a new school year, Extra Yard for Teachers, the College Football Playoff Foundation’s main platform, is giving away a $10,000 gift card to a teacher to improve their teaching or support a project that needs financial support. Anyone can enter here and nominate a teacher of their choice to receive the gift card. The giveaway runs until September 2, 2024.

Don’t miss this moment! Texas fans are encouraged to grab a hat, wave their flags or throw on a jersey and share their excitement on social media using #CollegeColorsDay.
