Alterna Vvelt – Blue Exorcist – A Different Story
Assiah, where humans live, and Gehenna, where evil lives. These two dimensions basically cannot affect each other, but demons can interfere with Assiah by taking possession of physical objects. However, some humans – exorcists – take it upon themselves to exorcise the demons. The duties of an exorcist are wide-ranging, and include not only exorcism, but also range from preventing demon-related disasters or terrorism to listening to the concerns of local residents. Unlike the exorcists who fight on the front lines against demons, there are many others who are overwhelmed with the day-to-day tasks of the Japanese branch of the Knights of the True Cross.
To protect the lives of local residents, they take on all sorts of odd jobs, from investigating unnatural phenomena to making offerings at forgotten shrines to troubleshooting the exorcist support app TapChat. One day, a fire breaks out in the Hyakusai Pagoda, one of the personal collections of possessed relics owned by Mephisto Pheles, the teacher of the Japanese branch. Since then, eyewitness accounts of unknown evils lurking in True Cross Academy Town have been piling up. What set the Hyakusai Pagoda on fire and what attracted evil to this place? The disaster will usher in a new chapter in the lives of the exorcists.
