See you later, Sambas! With the help of celebrities and artists such as A$AP Nast, singer Melissa Bon, soccer player Jules Koundé and model Sabrina Lan, Adidas successfully recreated its latest campaign for the SL 72 sneakers and the best part is that all five colors included flowers to represent the chosen hue.
The relaunch of the Adidas SL 72 sneakers featured flowers
Nothing happens by chance in the fashion industry. The brand new shoot features the ambassadors of these sneakers wearing flowers in the classic sneaker silhouette. Rapper A$AP Nast, singer Melissa Bon, footballer Jules Koundé and model Sabrina Lan are featured. Shot by Kenny Germé, the images are accompanied by a short film by Thomas Lachambre about the rise of the SL 72. Find out more about this campaign here!
If you’re an Adidas fan, this campaign will make you an even bigger fan thanks to the combination of colorful shoes and a color-coordinated bouquet of flowers for each person pictured.
Five colours for five bouquets
Following the debut of the brand’s new “We gave the world one original, you gave us thousands back” platform in 2023, Adidas Originals has put its iconic SL 72 silhouette in the spotlight this summer with a special campaign honoring the countless originals around the world.
For each new color (white, red, black, blue and yellow), each ambassador of the newest sneakers was presented with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate the global reintroduction of these iconic sneakers. With fashion icons and influential artists like those listed above, these sneakers are already taking over the fashion world and becoming a staple and trend in many people’s outfits.
Adidas using flowers in one of their most important campaigns is a HUGE deal, and people are starting to see a connection between high-impact campaigns and the use of flowers to uplift them and make them stand out even more.
Adidas let Colombian designer Sara Ospina take inspiration from flowers for the latest product launch of the Maaji brand and designed five scarves
Adidas Colombia has invited Medellin-based creative designer Sara Ospina to design five scarves for Maaji (a Colombian fashion brand) as part of the celebrations for the global launch of the latest SL72 sneakers.
Inspired by the sneakers’ five vibrant colors and the essence of Medellin, she incorporated flowers such as heliconias, orchids, alstroemeria, plumbago, and coffee. These flowers represent the region’s natural beauty and add a fresh, floral touch to the SL72s’ energetic vibe.
Through this collaboration, she was able to combine Adidas’ iconic style with Maaji’s playful, colorful spirit to create something truly unique that is deeply connected to my roots. Check out her art!
